Brown Earns NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete Honors

(September 28, 2000) The National Fastpitch Coaches Association has named Kennesaw State University softball player Candice Brown as a 2000 NCAA Division II All-America Scholar-Athlete. Brown, a junior third baseman/first baseman, finished her sophomore year with a 3.87 grade point average on a 4.00 scale. She is a pre-medicine major from Monroe, Ga. To earn the award, a player must have recorded at least a 3.50 GPA during the 1999-2000 academic year. On the field, Brown hit .371 last season as Kennesaw State finished as the Division II national runner-up.
