Kane
selected as pre-season All-American (10/12/00) Kennesaw State
University women's basketball player Amie Kane has been selected as a 2000
preseason Honorable Mention All-American by Women's Division II Bulletin, the
monthly newsletter of NCAA Division II women's basketball. Kane, a 5-9
senior guard/forward from Dakar, Senegal, was a First Team All-Peach Belt Conference
pick last year. As a junior, she led Kennesaw State in scoring with 18.0 points
per game while also averaging 5.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.7 steals a contest.
Kane concluded the 1999-2000 season by being named to the South Atlantic Regional
All-Tournament Team. The Lady Owls finished 25-5 overall a year ago after
making their third trip to the NCAA Tournament in the past four seasons. The defending
PBC regular season champions with a 14-2 record, KSU will open its upcoming campaign
by hosting the annual Ron Walker Memorial Tournament on November 17-18. |
