1/14/02 — KSU's Selden Chosen as Executive MBA Council Trustee

Gary Selden, director of executive programs at the Michael J. Coles College of Business at Kennesaw State University, has been chosen to serve on the board of trustees of the Executive MBA Council. Selden will serve a three-year term on the 10-member board as chairman of membership, and will direct marketing efforts in recruiting new members.

Maury Kalnitz, executive director of the council, says members of the board of trustees are chosen based on their past and potential contributions. He says Selden's hard work, as well as his marketing background was a plus. "He has been an active member of the organization for quite a while and willing to volunteer for things that come up," Kalnitz says. "Whatever he volunteers to do gets done, and with great quality."

"Our goal is to ensure the sharing of best practices among our member schools," Selden says. "That exchange of ideas is invaluable, and I'm excited to be part of that effort."

The Executive MBA Council (www.emba.org) is a not-for-profit association of universities and colleges offering executive MBA programs, and programs that follow the executive format. As director of executive programs at the Coles College of Business at KSU, Selden is responsible for executive-format MBA programs, including the MBA for Executive Professionals and the MBA for Physician Executives. His teaching responsibilities lie with the human side of enterprises, including organizational learning, team development and marketing. Selden has a doctorate from the University of Georgia, an MBA from Kennesaw State and a bachelor's in mathematics from Ithaca College.
