New
Executive Development Center opens at Kennesaw State Students
in Kennesaw State University's MBA for Experienced Professionals and MBA for Physician
Executives programs, the nation's second largest executive MBA program, will attend
class this semester in a brand-new Executive Development Center. The high-tech
facility is located at the KSU Center on Busbee Road in Kennesaw. "The
center has exceeded our expectations," said Gary Selden, director of executive
degree programs at KSU's Michael J. Coles College of Business. "No other public
university offers its students anything like this." "Our programs have
helped countless students make big advances in their careers," said Coles College
Dean Tim Mescon. "We wanted a facility that gives these students a feel for what
it's like to work in a practical, wired, atmosphere that is worthy of their desire
to move into senior management positions." | Classrooms
in the new building are state-of-the art: A dual-projection system
can display two presentations at once; for instance, a flow chart or page from
a hard-copy book can be projected at the same time as an accompanying video or
Internet presentation. Associates and faculty members can capture
what is written on the whiteboard directly into their computers. Each
student has an Internet connection allowing associates to be online during class.
Every classroom and breakout room is networked to printers and a
digital copy machine. Associates can print, collate and staple hard copies of
documents from their laptops during class as needed. |
Classes
will meet once a month at the new Executive Development Center. MBA programs at
the Michael J. Coles College of Business attract students from across the Southeast.
Most of the students have full-time jobs. The class sessions supplement the work
students perform in virtual teams over the Internet, using laptop computers supplied
by the program. |
