GEICO Adult Scholar Award: Kennesaw State student wins $1,000 scholarship

Kennesaw State University student Maria Jackson was named a 2002 recipient of one of the ten $1,000 Adult Scholar Awards provided by GEICO and Golden Key International Honour Society.

Golden Key members from any discipline may apply for this scholarship, but only the most outstanding candidates are selected to receive this award. These students are selected based on having an exceptional undergraduate record including scholastic achievement, leadership and a demonstrated commitment to campus and community service but must also show an ability to balance home, career and educational commitments effectively.

Jackson was selected from a pool of more than 200 candidates around the globe. All award winners receive a $1,000 scholarship for continuing education.

Golden Key International Honour Society was founded in 1977 in Atlanta, Ga. The global non-profit society provides not only academic recognition to college juniors and seniors in the top 15 percent of their class, but also leadership opportunities, community service, career networking and scholarships. The society has 335 chapters in the United States, Australia, Canada, Great Britain, Malaysia, South Africa and New Zealand. Membership into the society is by invitation only, to students in all fields of study.
