or fweyand@kennesaw.edu KSU's InTech program honored by teaching professionals Kennesaw State University was honored recently with the 2003 Best Practice Award for the innovative use of technology by the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education at its annual meeting in New Orleans. The award recognizes institutions that model the innovative use of technology for others in the profession of teaching. KSU's InTech program, piloted in 1996, was honored for assisting teachers and aspiring teachers in the use of technology in order to improve classroom learning. More than 20,000 Georgia teachers and student teachers have completed the InTech program and several other states are considering its use as well. Internationally, InTech has been utilized to train elementary school teachers in the use of instructional technology in the African nation of Ghana. Dr. Yiping Wan, Dean of KSU's Bagwell College of Education, accepted the award on behalf of Dr. Traci Redish, developer of the InTech program, ETTC director Leigh Funk and the education department. ### Kennesaw State University is a comprehensive, residential institution with a growing student population of 15,600 from 118 countries. The fifth largest out of 34 institutions in the University System of Georgia, KSU offers 55 undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
