Mulkey named marketing/promotions director for athletics

Felecia Mulkey has been named the marketing/promotions director for the Kennesaw State University athletic department, replacing Marica Merck, who recently resigned.

Along with taking over the marketing and promotions efforts for the athletic department, Mulkey will also continue to serve as the head coach of Kennesaw State's cheerleading and dance teams.

For the past two years, Mulkey worked as the marketing director and school health specialist for the American Lung Association, located in Smyrna, Ga.

Mulkey served as KSU's head cheerleading coach last season after spending the previous two years as the assistant coach. Prior to becoming a coach, she was a member of the cheerleading squad for two seasons at Kennesaw State, graduating with a bachelor's degree in health and exercise science in 1998. Before transferring to KSU, Mulkey served two years as a cheerleader and one season as an assistant coach at Southern Union State Community College in Wadley, Ala., where she earned an associate's degree in science in 1994.

The 26-year-old Mulkey is single and originally from Villa Rica, Ga. She now makes her home in Woodstock, Ga.
