Jones,
Tedford named assistant men's basketball coaches Jeff Jones
and Stace Tedford have been named as assistant men's basketball coaches
at Kennesaw State University. Jones comes to Kennesaw State from St. Johns
River Community College in Palatka, Fla., where he spent the last two seasons
as an assistant coach and the director of student activities. Before going to
SJRCC, Jones was an assistant coach at David H. Hickman High School (Columbia,
Mo.) for three years after serving in the same capacity at Moberly (Mo.) High
School from 1993-95. He began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Missouri
Valley College in Marshall during the 1990-91 campaign. The 32-year-old Jones
played two years at Pittsburg (Kan.) State University before earning his bachelor's
degree in 1991. He is currently working on his master's degree from Lindenwood
College (St. Louis, Mo.). Jones is originally from Columbia, Mo. "I'm really
excited about having Jeff because he has some recruiting ties down in Florida,"
Ingle said. "He's been around long enough that he brings a lot of knowledge of
the game." Tedford spent the last two seasons as a graduate assistant coach
at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Prior to his arrival at UAH, he played
two years each at the University of North Alabama (Florence) and Muscle Shoals
(Ala.) Community College. Tedford, 24, received his associate's degree from MSCC
in 1996, bachelor's from UNA in 1998 and master's from Alabama A&M University
(Huntsville) this past May. He is a native of Decatur, Ala. "I'm also excited
about having Stace be a part of our program," Ingle stated. "I think his experiences
in the past can help us in recruiting in Alabama, and his youth and enthusiasm
can help us with our team. "Both of these coaches will be great representatives
for our Kennesaw State University men's basketball program in the community."
